I've seen a car I want to buy on eBay, but I would like to get it checked out by the RAC. But surely by the time they get there and check it out, the car will have been sold? Has anyone else done this?
Also, on the car's listing, the option for get it checked by the RAC is not shown. According to the ebay motors buying checklist, this option is shown on the main details section, under where it says "Email to a friend", but on the details of the car I want to buy, it is not shown. Can the seller choose to omit this?

There is a procedure for checking records such as whether it has been stolen, has outstanding finance on it, etc, but I also want a mechanic to check the car's physical condition, ie engine condition, is it riddled with rust, that sort of thing.

Hi I am looking to but a car and so have been looking on various websites including ebay motors, freeads. I have found the autotrader a good site to find exactly the cars I'm interested in but when I get a list of possible cars to look at when I click on the picture or ad title to get the full details, it just opens a blank window?? And it also looses my search and turns that into a blank screen aswel!
It has been happening every time I try and get full details and bigger photo of any car on the site! What's going on?
Anyone else having the same problem? It's so frustrating because I can't even find out the contact number for the seller or see pictures other than the tiny one on the search results list!

If my pc isn't allowing cookies how do I fix this? But if this was the case wouldn't it have the same problem on other websites? Such as catalogs etc. I have nothing like that, it's only on the auto trader site. Thanks.

I have user name in eBay as a regular upright customer-buyer. On Sep.6, 2007 I made a purchase but I was charged twice by mistake for buying an item#270161223681 from seller "buypcdirect" on eBay.com. Later, on Oct.3,2007 I was refunded with half of the sum, thanks to PayPal with Refund ID #5C8481118X318382A (in reference to: ID #2GP638847P600130U). I was all right with the deal, but I still have an unreasonable negative feedback point left by "buypcdirect.com", although the eBay Support System says: "Feedback for this transaction has already been withdrawn". So I STILL have this problem and I CANNOT buy a car in good condition on eBay.motors.com, because of this negative point! I hope you can put this in consideration! Please assist for Withdrawal of this ridiculous point.

Resolved Question: ebay.com does not load on my pc anymore, other sites seem fine?
Recently, ebay.com quit loading on my pc (doesn't work in either Firefox or IE). If I go to a search engine, and do a search for ebay & whatever I'm looking for, I can get to that search, but not the home page. I have flushed my DNS, with no improvement. I cannot ping the site either, but other sites (ebay motors, ebay.ca, ect...) are fine. Running XP professional, is there something that I need to check and change?

No error shows up when I try to load it in either IE or Firefox, it just says "problem loading page", or it times out. Other secure sites work fine, I can get to other sites on e-bay, just not the home page. There are no filters on any sites, nothing blocked (cookies/sites). Nothing has changed on my pc in the past couple of months, it has worked fine for three years. I will try contacting ebay too.
