Resolved Question: Is it time the FA change the rules on ownership?
I think maybe its time the FA look at the way clubs are purchased. The fit & proper test seems to be seriously lacking, look at whats happening with portsmouth where both owners have are it just for a quick profit and both have done it with borrowed money. Should ownership not be like Man City and Aston Villa and even Newcastle Utd where to buy a club you have to use your own money and not buy it with loans from banks or investment companies. should the first question asked by the PL and FA be "Show me the Money" ?
Look at Man Utd purchased 5 -6 years ago and owe more money than they were purchased for, Liverpool the same, and looks like Arsenal will soon be auctioned off when Kronke launches his takeover.
Portsmouth have sacked most of the backroom staff and Fahim who still retains 10% is looking to use his ownership to build on land around the stadium. Fahraj is looking to sell his stake as soon as possible and looks like some of his partners are convicted fraudsters who have close links to the original owner. Why have the PL and FA not done anything about all of this and is it a better idea to only allow owners who have the money to buy the club out right?
