It is a Renault Clio 1.2 16v Dy manic 5 door with 41k, it's asking price is 1900 odd for a damaged and repaired car. Is this a good price and what would be except able to pay. I am trying to help someone who has been conned by a cowboy independent tv outfit. They took everything out of her home and sold it for peanuts. She went into it under the impression that it was a BBC programme and that they would clear out her clutter and perhaps sell the items that she restores and sells for a living at a suitable auction. They left some boxes behind so she did not realise that they had taken all the stuff she needs to run her business, all her clothes, underwear included, and some sculptures of her family. The first knowledge that she had was when she was led into an auction room hundreds of miles from her home and when the blindfold was taken off she saw to her horror that everything (apart form the stuff that she wanted to get rid of) was on the shelves of a boot sale type auction. It was then cold for peanuts. At several points she was misled and tactics reminiscent of brain washing (such as the horrible shock mentioned above) caused her to lose the plot. Her friend was physically obstructed from trying to buy some of the items back for her. She has lost her business and nearly lost her life with terrible clinical depression. She has no money for lawyers so I am going to represent her. I need all the pointers I can get. Can you advise me? which bits of the law do I need to mug up on. Hi Tex K I did not say that they stole her things though valuable items such as a lap top etc did disappear without trace. There is the theft angle but the main point is that they were deceiving her for the drama of the programme and she lost everything as a consequence. The police do not want to kwow, regarding it as a civil matter. I would call it a con trick. After everything ahd been removed she sigend a peice of paper wich she did nto think was a proper contact and it is an unwitnessed sheet of paper with only her name on it and a statement that she accepst the terms. It is compicated by the fact that it is a combination of theft and unscrupulous media people taking advantage of someone they thought was powerless, for a very iffy reality porgramme. I am a first time buyer. I have seen a house I like on the market for 120k. It has been on the market for several months and the description on the house states 'urgent sale required'. However despite this it has been on the market for some time. The house does need complete redecoration throughout and the garden needs a complete overhaul. This is perhaps why buyers have been put off. The current seller bought the property in 2003 for 105k ( I checked the land registry). Bearing in mind the work that needs doing the maximum I could spend is 100k, do you think this is realistic or should I perhaps offer a little lower so that we could maybe meet at 100K? The house next door to it is similar and is being sold at public auction with the guide price of 90k and I would say they are of similar standards. I am pretty to new to all this and so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! just to clarify, 120k would be in my price range but in light of the cost involved in refurbishing the property this is why I don't want to offer above 100k!!!

The Frauen Warte, which ran from 1935 to 1945 and was the Nazi Party's biweekly-illustrated magazine for women, had a circulation of nearly two million at its peak. Now, a total of 65 editions will go under the hammer on April 23 at Ludlow Racecourse in Shropshire as part of an auction held by Mullocks Auctioneers. It was compiled by an English collector from sales in Germany, and will be auctioned together with Boys Own-style magazines aimed at schoolboys extolling the virtues of shooting down English aircraft and blowing up English ships. The King of Rock scrawled the rhyme on a piece of paper after apparently killing a robin that perched on his window ledge, reports contactmusic.com. The note, written on his own stationary, reads, 'As I awoke this morning when all sweet things are born, a robin perched on my window sill to greet the coming dawn. He sang his sweet song so sweetly and paused for a moment's lull, I gently raised the window and crushed his ******* skull'. The poem was part of an online sale of Elvis memorabilia, which closed March 26. Other items sold in the auction included a jumpsuit he wore at a concert at New York's Madison Square Garden, which went for $212,588.40 (148,663 pounds), and the typed lyrics for his song 'Young and Beautiful', which went under the hammer for $1,155.60 (791.50 pounds).

Ten years after being found lying in the vaults of an English bank, a gem-encrusted gold finial plundered from Tipu Sultan's huge golden throne is being put up for sale in London. Auctioneers Bonhams, who describe the finial as "one of the most important Tipu items ever to appear for sale", have valued it at around 800,000 pounds. The tiger-head finial was one of eight that stood on each end of a gigantic gold octagonal throne in Seringpatnam, on which Tipu - a legendary admirer of the tiger - would have sat cross-legged, but didn't because he vowed not to mount it until he had defeated the British. It was discovered during a routine inspection by auctioneers in the late 1990s, having lain in an English castle for at least 100 years and then in a bank vault. Only two more of the eight finials are known to exist - one is in the Clive Collection in Wales. Another briefly appeared in a London dealer's catalogue in the 1970s, never to be seen again, Claire Penhallurick of Bonhams Indian and Islamic Department, said. The finial going under the hammer April 2 belongs to the family of Thomas Wallace, who oversaw the East India Company, whose army defeated Tipu Sultan in the battle of Seringapatnam (Srirangapatnam) May 4, 1799. Penhallurick said Tipu's majestic gold throne was broken up and plundered in such a hurry by the victorious British that little is known about the fate of the remaining throne relics, although a large gold tiger head from the front of the throne platform now resides at Queen Elizabeth II's home in Windsor Castle along with a jewelled bird. The tiger head, which is encrusted with diamonds, rubies and emeralds, had lain at Featherstone Castle in Northumberland before being hidden away in a bank. "The British, sadly, weren't very well behaved in Seringapatnam," Penhallurick said. "I would have thought a lot of the other finials have come to Britain. Others could have picked them up in India. "We hope it goes back to India," she said. Tipu, who adopted the tiger as the symbol of his power and kingship, became the East India Company's most feared foe, famously declaring: "I would rather live one day as a tiger than a lifetime as a sheep." Do you think it's fair that pre sale tickets have been offered to anyone applying via text or email (and am I right in believing that o2 customers got priority?). It just seems a bit unfair that there are 1000's of genuine fans who will be trying to get through when the phone lines open and also queuing up at the o2, only to probably be disappointed when they can't get through/tickets sell out before they get there etc. A lot of these people will be desperate to go see MJ perform one last time and could potentially be left having to pay through the nose from ticket touts and Ebayers making a fast buck. The reason I ask is because I am one of the few people who have no interest whatsoever in going to see Michael Jackson, but managed to get 4 top price tickets on pre-sale this morning, will little effort! I will be selling these on the well known auction site nearer the time, but a part of me feels a bit crappy about doing this..... Katie, "love". I'm a Helicopter Emergency Services Paramedic and I earn a very adequate living, thank you. I do however, hope that you never have call to be a patient needing the service on my shift. I maybe should have added that any profits made after selling the tickets will be donated to the Warks and Northants Air Ambulance service.
