Resolved Question: Laptop speakers and headphone slot broke. What exactly is a USB sound card?
I had my headphones plugged in but then tripped over the laptop cable, which made it fall to the floor and land on the headphone jack causing something to bend inside. Neither speakers nor headphones are working, leaving me with no sound. I'm a poor student unable to buy a new laptop and i expect a repair bill will cost more than i can afford. I've found a "startech virtual 7.1 USB stereo audio adapter external sound card" on amazon for around £10. What exactly is this? I want something that will plug in a USB and will produce that wonderful thing known as sound. Preferably with a headphone slot. I'm not particularly bothered about fantastic sound quality. Will this do that?

I've had a casio exilim for about 4 years which used to take really good quality photos but recently the picture quality has fallen. Is this normal wear and tear for a point and shoot camera? I've been looking for a new camera on Amazon but every one I look at has negative reviews. Hey thanks for the responses guys! I've checked all of the settings and they all seem ok. It has taken a bit of a bashing over the years, so it makes sense that it'll have dust and stuff in, and that the lens is probably a bit worn. I think I'll just buy the newer model of the one I've got.

I live in the UK, and have been trying to buy a Veronica Mars box set for ages now, but its only available on region 1. After much trawling through forums I'd been advised by the vast majority of fans worldwide (some of whom had done this themselves already) to buy from amazon.com (as opposed to .co.uk) as the dvds there were multi regional, while the uk website said they were only region 1. I don't understand how this could of been, but anyway... Lots of people in the UK backed this up. I was ready to go for it but then when I went to pay I got this message off amazon.com....
