I have had enough of ebay & paypal, there fees are now just way too ridiculous, i have just sold an item for £280, and will be left with around £230 after final value fee of £28, paypal fee of £12, postage £10!!! - (im thinking of refunding the buyer) sorry cant give it away now can i? And all this after i sold the item for £320 2 months before & the buyer has it for over a month & returned it saying its faulty, i declined it & paypal agreed in his favour - he got all his money back & i lost out on p&p=£10 & now the damm item has gone down in price & the fact that when i got it back there was nothing wrong with it - what kind of company does this - think twice before you sell on ebay - why make them money for nothing & then let them abuse us like this!!
Pease some one invent a new ebay with only a listing fee of say £1/$1 and thats it - you can make money from advertising & you would make enough money as there are probably millions like me who need you!!
I know theres gumtree - the thing with that is you get way too many timewasters & everyday a nigerian is trying his best to get lucky & finally you get offered stupid prices!!
the other is amazon - which i need to look more into - can any one advise?
i think we should boycott ebay - there making way too much money then they need to - wheres it all going to??

I have been selling on eBay for many years and until fairly recently was quite happy to play by their rules. However, recent changes with things such as payment options, feedback policy, postage options and dispute process have become very one-sided in favour of buyers. I have seen a massive increase in buyers knowing there is little I can do to counter them messing me around.
It seems I'm not alone with my opinion. Other sellers appear to be moving on and I want to take my business elsewhere too but where is everyone moving on to? I would like to move on to auctions with a far more balanced, fair and level playing field but I don't know of any online auction sites on the internet that are as popular as eBay or even come close in terms of popularity.
Does anyone on Yahoo! Answers know of a great alternative to eBay?

As Ebay becomes more and more greedy with what it charges it's users, and coupled with it's terrible customer service i have been wondering if there are alternative sites to Ebay?
I am in the UK, so any suggestions would have to be for sites that UK residents can buy and sell from.

EBAY are so heavy handed - they create complicated selling rules that are almost impossible to follow and then simply take your ad off at a critical moment no doubt prompted by rival sellers ! So what alternatives could I use ? (Mind you PAYPAL are even worse !!)

If I search on Paypal, I can find a list of USA shops that accept Paypal, which is fine if I don't mind paying a huge shipping fee.
When I search within the UK site, I can find the page that shows a few shop logos (Misco, Ebay, Boots etc), but the majority of these places are for elecrical goods. There must be more places in the UK than these surely? I would like an alternative to EBay if possible.
